Sources:  Whole grains, nuts


RDA:  50 mcg for pregnant and lactating mothers


Description:  Molybdenum is a cofactor in many enzymes that have vital functions in the body.  It is also important for the metabolism of sulfur containing amino acids.  Deficiency symptoms can include headaches, night blindness, and rapid pulse rate.  Dosages of molybdenum in excess of 2000 mcg/day are not recommended.
